trekking trail starting from Edakkal,kerala.

Requirements to Wayanad Wildlife Reserve
Entry permits to
visit Waynad can be obtained from the Wildlife Warden at Sulthan Bathery, about
16 km from the Wildlife Sanctuary.
Arrangements for guided walks and jeep safaris can also be made through the Wildlife Warden.

1973, the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary is contiguous to the protected area
network of Nagarhole and Bandipur of Karnataka on the northeast and Mudumalai
of Tamil Nadu on the southeast.

The flora of
Wayanad are characteristic of the Western Ghats and the plantation crops grown
in the cool climate. A major portion of the district is covered by coffee.
Trees of the wild type like rose-wood, anjili (Artocarpus), mullumurikku (Erthrina), several species of caussia and many other non-descript varieties are still preserved here and there, to give shade to the coffee plants.
